New ep for Black Oath, one of the best Italian bands dedicated to doom in its most classic forms. Litanies In The Dark comes out exactly one year after the excellent To Below And Beyond, work that has consolidated the status of the Milanese band as a credible interpreter of the music of doom in its purest essence. On this occasion our band gives us three unreleased tracks as well as a magnificent cover (Reincarnation Of The Highway Cavalier) which is actually much more, being the medley of two songs contained in The Time Lord, Pagan Altar’s ep of 2004. Said of the excellent success of this version, it should be noted above all the opening song, …From Here, a true trademark of Black Oath, always led by the stentorian voice of A.Th, master of ceremonies who has the task of introducing us into a parallel world where the occult and the sacrilegious go hand in hand, causing chills and anxiety without even having to resort to any particular artifice. Really a magnificent song, this one, to which the other two unreleased instrumentals are a corollary, the more composed Funeral Alchemy and A Song To Die With that mysteriously fades on the most beautiful after two minutes, just when an involving crescendo was taking shape. In summary, Litanies In The Dark offers twenty minutes of undoubted quality that serve to keep alive the attention towards the excellent Black Oath, waiting for a next test on long distance.
