From New Zealand comes Gravewards, whose musical soul is known to be Henry Peachey; Demo MMXVIII offers two long tracks that are well produced and crafted with certain competence. A rocky and full riffing takes the listener towards territories certainly not unexplored but still cloaked by an appropriate darkness, even if for these characteristics what is offered by Gravewards shows, especially in the first track Scourge Imposed, an approach not dissimilar to sludge with classic doom veins when the lead guitar enters the scene. This is a convincing test for which we have to wait and see if this short work will have a sequel.
