Obed Marsh, a Perth duo made up of Drew James Griffiths (bass and guitar) and Sam Ford (vocals, drums and guitar), move on the borderline between black, post metal and funeral. They started off with a demo in 2014 in which they sketched out the monstrous forms evoked by Lovecraftian literature, which would then be transposed into music with the 2016 full length Innsmouth, a work that was suffocating by virtue of its obsessive and incessant rhythms. Such compositional scheme is propped up with this Dunwich, even if overall a greater variety and a more reflective nature emerge, although it’s always characterized by sounds as hostile as disturbing and by a vocal approach such as to seem at certain times to interpret the lyrics inspired by the work of H.P.L. there is an infiltrator Brian Johnson.
