In the face of an extreme movement full of bands with great potential and the presence of an important label such as Kunal Choksi’s Transcending Obscurity Records, the Indian doom scene is not as full-bodied, with the exception of Dormant Inferno, authors of a good melodic death doom, and Djinn and Miskatonic, who are dealing with a transversal and very fresh approach to the genre. Antim Sanskar (a funeral rite in the Hindi language), a band that started as a solo project of the Indian Cremator and later consolidated as a duo with the addition of Austrian Desderoth, have recently moved into contiguous territories. The ep The Final Path contains three quite different but equally interesting tracks, with hints of melodic funeral death doom and large portions of dark and post metal of good quality, and has seen the contribution of various guests among which stands out the name of Riccardo Veronese of Aphonic Threnody.
