With their second full length Fragilium, the English band Consecration are the protagonists of a rather orthodox presentation of death doom, but not for this reason negligible. The band from Norwich offers almost an hour of notes, mostly grim but often sweetened by delicate acoustic passages: this dichotomy is a further reason for interest and, in part, also an element of identification within a sound that, as mentioned, moves for the rest in the grooves widely beaten in the English lands by the usual known. Fragilium is therefore a work that does not change the hierarchies of the genre, but contributes to shore up the already solid foundations from below.
