From Costa Rica comes this river of stoner/sludge/doom lava entitled Ouroboric Trances, the first long-distance work by Age Of The Wolf. The band through Aural Music licenses this monolithic example of a genre that to date is giving great satisfaction to its fans, and the eight tracks of which it is composed confirm this qualitative peak that, starting from the underground, involves the most varied scenes around the world. The quartet, right from the opener Herald Of Abyssos, raises thick walls of fuzz, the tempos are kept slow, the atmosphere lavish, and the melodies struggle their way through powerful riffs. The opening harmonies of Goliath turn into a monolithic march to the top of the volcano that, shortly thereafter, will spew death in The Crimson Penitence and find more traditionally stoner paths in Goddess Of The Hunt and Bloodrage. The long pacing of Molten Earth concludes a respectable debut for Age Of The Wolf, a band recommended for fans of Baroness, Dopelord, Altar of Betelgeuze and Sumoken. (A.Centenari – MetalEyes 5/7/19)
