A Death By The Seaside, a newly minted band from Philadelphia, present themselves to the public with a remarkable self-titled demo. Even here the funeral is proposed in an atmospheric and rarefied version that often borders on shoegaze post metal, with good alternation and appropriate use of growl and female voice. The quintet cleverly keeps away from the cloyingness sometimes inherent in the mentioned sub-genres proposing two long tracks definitely valid for depth and sound performance, ideally placing themselves in the wake of Aeonian Sorrow, at least at certain junctures, and enrolling themselves in the roll of the realities to keep under close observation for a future that foresees the release of a full length in 2021.
