Grimorte are a recently formed English duo made up of multi-instrumentalist Lewis Borthwick and vocalist Kieran Scott, who offer an interesting taste of death doom with their debut EP Esoteric Ascendance. The chosen form of expression is the roughest and therefore less melodic one, in which several black metal nuances also conflict, at least as far as some rhythmic accelerations are concerned, for a not excellent but promising result, in the light of a good executive ability of the name that is well supported by the harsh tones of Scott. A little less than twenty minutes performed with good intensity and conviction are the ideal basis for a possible long-distance approach.
