German band Décembre Noir have built up a solid reputation over the last few years thanks to a series of albums of consistent melodic death. Their latest album The Renaissance Of Hope, their fourth work, offers more than three quarters of an hour of convincing, unadulterated music. The other side of the coin is that the stylistic interpretation of the Erfurt band adheres to the stylistic elements of the subgenre, reaching the limits of predictability, a risk that is cleverly avoided thanks to a writing ability that makes each track compelling and full of melodic ideas enclosed in a full-bodied death envelope. As evidence of the remarkable potential of the six tracks that make up the album, Décembre Noir have combined the enthralling A Swan Lake Full Of Tears and Hope / Renaissance with as many videos, useful to act as a driving force for this very good work.
