Still from Romania an interesting new project emerges that involves, similarly to the Genune discussed a few days ago, a musician who was part of Descend into Despair. This is Bogdan Florea, guitarist on The Bearer of All Storms (first full length of the band of Xander Coza) who, after having dedicated himself to some solo projects close to black metal, comes back to doom with his latest creation called Breath Of The Cosmos. Although credited to the latter genre, First Incantation is actually a much more multifaceted work with its movement between post-metal, folk, ambient and electronic pulses, in a sufficiently organic and, above all, mostly brilliant way, thanks to the use by Florea of the services of the talented flutist Andrei Oltean, a key element in the success of the last two magnificent albums by Clouds. The moniker is indicative of a cosmic feeling well described by the lyrics composed in conjunction with Oana Alexandra Sedonja, author also of several passages acted; about voices, the only small remark to be made to Bogdan is that his ability as a singer is not equal to that exhibited as a composer and instrumentalist, but this is a detail that does not affect the overall goodness of a varied work, dreamy and often exciting, with the peak in a splendid episode as Obscure Figures of Fate. The first work of Breath of the Cosmos is addressed to an audience with a varied background but united by the search for sounds with a certain depth, also from a conceptual point of view.
