Czech band Indrid Cold have been around for a few years already but, after a single in 2017 and an ep in 2019, they only now come to their first full length Monument Prázdnoty, a title that hints at the group’s use of their mother tongue for their lyrics as well. Having overcome this small obstacle, it must be said that the very airy post-metal of the Bohemian band breaks through with a certain ease, not so much for the use of particularly winking or corny tones, but for a rather brilliant compositional vision and well supported by an instrumental and vocal work of all respect. The experience of the musicians involved (three quarters of Indrid Cold comes from Born Again, a death band already active at the turn of the century) does the rest, making Monument Prázdnoty a really enjoyable work and almost devoid of interlocutory passages thanks to the pursuit of the idea of a song form not so obvious in the post-metal field. A nice discovery for those who prefer this genre.
