
If it’s true that post metal, in all its various nuances, is one of the most inflated sub-genres of recent times, we must also admit that, thanks to the amount of material released on the market, it is clear the difference between those who can fully express their compositional talent and those who, instead, exhibit a sterile mannerism. The Swiss E-L-R belong to the first of the two cases, proposing with their second full length the perfect sound flow of a shoegaze post metal that takes its cue from a hypnotic rituality, without this being at the expense of usability. For this reason Vexier turns out to be a precious listen, intense, full of nuances, in which the Bernese trio proves to be able to hit and caress and, above all, to paint soundscapes as clear as they are changeable; five beautiful songs for a little less than an hour of duration make it clear why Prophecy Productions immediately included E-L-R in its roster; the Swiss band has earned in a few years a well-deserved credibility in the scene, as evidenced by the illustrious collaborations that have wrapped the previous full length Mænad, both the possibility of opening for Amenra during the tour that will begin in a few days.
